Walk, Bike and Bush Free Event


11th September 2011  

Walk or cycle beside the Kaniwhaniwha Stream and along the Nikau Track (Mt Pirongia) while enjoying beautiful native bush and restoration plantings.

After the cycle or walk join in with the Te Pahu Landcare Group and Department of Conservation 10 year celebration of stream planting with a sausage sizzle lunch in the bush and local music from the Big Muffin Serious Band.

AND go on a guided walk to explore caves, watch electric fishing or go on a hunt to find bush treasures.

Shared transport from Hamilton to the Kaniwhaniwha Stream carpark can be arranged.

Drink and snack bars provided. Bring additional picnic lunch (sausage sizzle provided).

This is a Waikato Biodiversity Forum event in partnership with  the Te Pahu Landcare Group and Department of Conservation .  

Timings for the day

9.30-10.30am  Cycle or walk track

10.45am -11.45am Music -Big Muffin Serious Band

11.45-12.30 Lunch

1pm  Guided walks to cave, electric fishing and hunting for bush treasures

2pm Walk or cycle back to carpark
